The real problems people hit with FMTTI

Not generic advice — these are specific, documented issues, straight from the Ministry's own circulars and committee minutes.

01

Which of the 42 approved bodies is actually yours?

It's not just the 4 FMTTIs — 38 more State Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutes and state departments are also officially approved, and CFMTTI Budni alone holds the national mandate for tractor type-approval. Send your application to the wrong one, and you start over.

We fix it: We confirm the correct institute for your exact machine and target scheme before you apply.

02

FMTTI wants three copies of your manuals — in English and your regional language.

Plus a parts catalogue, full specifications, and a technical drawing set. Miss one document, and your application gets sent back for correction — resetting the clock while your slot moves further out.

We fix it: We prepare and review the full document set before anything gets submitted.

03

Institute queues run long — the Ministry's own minutes admit it.

A 2018 Technical Committee meeting on this exact subject noted “there is big queue at the FMTTIs and designated testing centers” when setting report-validity rules. Slots book out months in advance.

We fix it: We give you a realistic timeline up front, based on current institute backlog — not a guess.

04

You get a narrow window to comment on your Draft Test Report — miss it, and it ships without your input.

Once testing is done, a Draft Test Report is issued for your comments. If you don't respond in time, the Testing Authority can release the Final Report as-is.

We fix it: We track your file and flag this exact moment, so it never slips past you.

05

A specific institute's real quote can look nothing like the “general” fee schedule.

The Ministry publishes a general per-category fee schedule — but Power Tillers, for example, run under a separate mandatory-test circular. SRFMTTI's own signed rate for a full Power Tiller test is ₹4,07,478, well above the generic line most people find online.

We fix it: We quote the real, applicable figure for your machine — not the generic number.

06

Report validity isn't one number — it's 3 to 7 years, depending on category.

Tractors and power tillers are actually the shortest (3 years, then 5 for a batch test); most implements run longer. Assume the wrong number, and you could turn up to renew a subsidy scheme with an expired report.

We fix it: We track which validity rule applies to your machine, so renewal never catches you off guard.
